A few weeks back I reported that CBS ordered “Rush Hour” to series. Det. Carter isn’t the only black cop getting a chance to shine on the small screen. Det. Alonzo Harris of “Training Day” also may be getting a series order. For now there is just a pilot order for the show with executive producer, Antione Fuqua, directing the pilot written by Will Beall.

There will be one big change from the movie, the race of the corrupt cop and rookie will be switched. In a CBS press release it’s stated that the show will be about…

“an idealistic young African-American police officer [who] is appointed to an elite squad of the LAPD where he is partnered with a seasoned, morally ambiguous Caucasian dectective.”

If CBS likes the pilot we could be seeing the show as soon as the 2016 fall season or a winter 2017 mid-season replacement.

Do you like the idea of “Training Day” becoming a TV series?

What do you think about the race change of the main characters?
